** DEBRA RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR "GOD HAS TWELVE NEW ANGELS" **
In March 2007, Debra took home the "2007 Horizon Award Songwriter Of The Year" from the North America Country Music Association, Intl (NACMAI) for her song "God Has Twelve New Angels". Her song, written in honor of the twelve Sago miners killed in her hometown, also won the "2006 New Country Songwriter of the Year Award" from the Tennessee Country Music Association (TCMA), and brought her to this national level award. This year's Tenth Annual NACMAI Award Show & Competition was held at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN. The NACMAI Hall of Fame Awards is known for their special guests and for honoring legendary performers and industry personnel who have made significant contributions to the country music industry. Special guests this year were Jeanne Pruett, John Conlee, Jeannie Seely, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Ronny Robbins and Stonewall Jackson.
** DEBRA RECEIVES ANOTHER TCMA AWARD **
On November 5, 2006, Debra received the "2006 New Country Songwriter of the Year Award" from the Tennessee Country Music Association (TCMA) for her song, "God Has Twelve New Angels", written in honor of the twelve Sago miners killed in her home town. She was presented the award by TCMA Executive Director, Michael de' Bills. The Awards Show was held at the River Plantation Conference Center in Sevierville, TN. Congratulations Debra!
Debra will be moving on to the North America Country Music Association, Intl (NACMAI) level, which will be held at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN in March 2007.
DEBRA'S POETRY INCLUDED IN SAGO MINE CHAPBOOK - 07/27/06
Debra's poem "God Has Twelve New Angels", has been included in A place of...Amazing Grace, a collection of stories, poems and notes from writers across America, reflecting how deeply they were affected by the Sago Mine accident in Upshur County. The book was published as a memorial to the miners of West Virginia an a gift to their families.

WV WRITERS CONFEENCE AT CEDAR LAKES IN RIPLEY, WV
In June 2006, Debra attended the 29th Annual WV Writers Spring Conference, which took place at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, WV. The WV Writers, Inc., of which Debra is a member, promotes writing as a form of art. The conference included three days of writing workshops, people's choice competitions for both Prose and Poetry, Writers' Wall writing display and competition, informal discussions, social activities, entertainment and a banquet/awards ceremony. Debra's merchandise was on display and for sale in the conference bookstore during the event.

Debra is a proud supporter of the American Heart Association. For several years, she has donated merchandise to the telethon. For the 2006 event, Debra donated a "Sweetheart Package", which included an autographed copy of her novel, "Life's Second Chances", her book of poetry, "Thoughts From Within", her CD single, "Eternal Love", and a stuffed animal. Debra has been featured in several issues of "Country Western Corner", a monthly Entertainment News magazine published by EH King Music in Santa Fe, TX. In the February 2005 issue, E.H. King Music and Entertainment News featured an exclusive review of Debra's "Eternal Love". "Country Western Corner" is a premier entertainment monthly magazine which reaches out to thousands of friends of country music, other songwriters, producers, DJ Radio Programmers and the Publishes who make things happen in this wonderful business of music. Under the heading "Catch This Music Catch A Rising Star", the review said "KELLY COBERLY - DKQM - "Eternal Love" is a promotion single that was written by DEBRA K. annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society. The
2004 Relay For Life raised over $100,000 for the fight against cancer. A

SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL AT LORETTA LYNN'S RANCH
In June 2003, Debra attended the First Annual Songwriter's Festival, held at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. Debra's daughter, Kelly Coberly, performed her original song, "Eternal Love" during the event and received many great reviews. The Songwriters Festival brought together Songwriters of all genres from all over the world, and was a great success. The Festival also included performances by Nashville Recording Artist & Songwriter, Michael Peterson ("From Here To Eternity"), as well as performances from some of Nashville's best Hit Song Writers.

The author added a personal touch to her novel by incorporating two of her original poems, and each of her grandchildren's names into the story. The fictional town of Tyler, West Virginia was named after her oldest grandchild. Although
the story is fictional, there is a chapter in the novel where the characters

WV Romance Novelist to Sign Books in Morgantown By HNN Staff Morgantown, WV (HNN) – West Virginia author Debra Quick will be signing copies of her mystery romance novel from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at Barnes & Noble, 3000 University Town Centre Blvd. in Morgantown. "Life's Second Chances" is a romance novel which takes place on a ranch in Tyler, West Virginia. Debra added a personal touch to her novel by incorporating two of her original poems, and each of her grandchildren's names into the story. The town of Tyler, West Virginia was named after her oldest grandchild. Although the story is fictional, there is a chapter in the novel where the characters visit her hometown of Buckhannon for their annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival. Little did Quick know that only a week after the release of her novel, she would be living its title. She was involved in a head-on collision near Yeager Airport in Charleston. She suffered cuts, bruises and a broken neck. Quick stated, "It's a miracle I survived the accident, and I've been given a second chance at life." Quick is currently working on the sequel, "Angels Watching Over Us", and anticipates it's completion in 2006. Debra is a member of the Tennessee Country Music Association (TCMA). Just recently Debra traveled to The Showplace Dinner Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where she was presented the "2005 TCMA New Country Songwriter of the Year" award for her "Eternal Love". Debra lives in Buckhannon, WV with her husband, Charlie, of thirty-three years. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren.
